Welcome to 4th quarter PE. I would like for you to keep a fitness log until we go back to school. Please see the following link:
Exercise at least 20 minutes each day and keep a record of it on the log. Any type of movement or play counts towards the 20 minutes, so if you take a walk with your family or spend time shooting hoops....that counts. Where is says 'Activity', write down what exercises or activities that you did. Quantity- write down how many times you did an exercise, or how long you walked or played. Component- see the chart on the bottom right portion of the fitness log to see which component of fitness you used. At the bottom of the log, please write three fitness goals. These can be short term goals, such as "I will do 5 push-ups each day" or long term goals, such as "I will be able to run 50 laps on the Pacer test by the end of the quarter".

This week we have been learning different large group games that we will be playing during Field Days in May.
We have been learning about archery this week. Students were skills tested over the proper stance when shooting. Today the students kept their score as they practiced shooting to see who could get the highest score.
Students took the volleyball post-test today, with the exception of 6th period. We encountered technical difficulties, so that class will take the test on Monday. Monday will be a large group game against Coach Shaw's class. Tuesday will be the first day of the archery unit.
The volleyball tournament continues....double elimination. Students will take the post test on Friday. We have been reviewing each day.
We discussed rules and strategies of the game of volleyball today. Students played volleyball for the remainder of class time. We will continue with the tournament tomorrow.
Students picked teams for volleyball and then played a practice game. We will learn and practice the serve tomorrow.
Today students were assessed on the volleyball skills- bump and set. Students will be ranked as beginner, intermediate, or advanced. We will be working on those skills tomorrow, as well as learning the basic rules of the game. Most of my classes took the pre-test yesterday and those grades are posted. My first period class will take the pre-test tomorrow.
