7th and 8th graders have been participating in the Fitnessgram fitness test this week.
6th graders had their first day of physical education today, due to the recruitment process of the music department. My students were assigned a roll call seat and a PE locker. Please bring PE clothes tomorrow (shorts-mid thigh or longer, white or gray t-shirt, and tennis shoes). We will begin dressing out and discussing rules and policies.
Please read the following syllabus and bring the last page back with any medical information that would impact your participation in activities. Students that cannot participate due to illness or injury will be given an alternate assignment.
7th and 8th grade students will begin dressing out tomorrow. Please bring a change of clothes- white or gray t-shirt, shorts (mid-thigh or longer), and athletic shoes.
6th grade will be rotating through the connections classes and learning what each program offers. You will be getting your 6th grade connections schedule next week.
Students played basketball and/or Four square while I measured and weighed students for the Fitnessgram test. We will be doing the PACER, curl-up, and push-up tests next week.
I taught all the girls from my class and Coach Ravenscraft's class today. We played CrossFit baseball. There are 2 teams that compete against each other to score as many runs as possible in a given amount of time. To get a hit, the student had to complete either a forward roll or a log roll. Then had to lunge to 1st base and perform 3 push-ups. Students would then skip to 2nd base and perform 5 jumping jacks. Students would bunny hop to 3rd base and perform 5 mountain climbers, and then slide step to home plate.
We also played 'Octopus Tag' and did some group juggling.
Students new to PE, please read the following syllabus. If you have any medical information that would impact your participation in class, please complete the last page of the syllabus and return.
