My classes resumed their badminton tournament today. We will finish up the unit tomorrow. Next week we will be going outside. 7th graders may want to bring an older pair of shoes to wear since the field will still be wet with dew in the mornings.

We started a unit on fitness yesterday. Students ran the PACER (Progressive Aerobic Capacity Endurance Run) yesterday. This is part of the state mandated Fitnessgram test that measures aerobic capacity. Today the students did a Tabata for a warm-up. This is a 4 minute warm-up that is made up of 20 seconds of exercise following by 10 seconds of rest. The students were able to choose between several different exercises to perform. After the warm-up, students got into small group and ran fitness relay races.
