We have completed the dance unit. All grade levels had different assessments: 7th grade worked on a group dance, 8th grade performed the Carolina Shag, and 6th grade created and performed a 16 step dance.
We will begin learning volleyball on Monday.

7th grade- students are working in groups to choreograph a dance. They will begin presenting their dances tomorrow
8th grade- students have learned the basic step, double arm pass-by, single arm turn, 360, and pretzel. They will be assessed tomorrow over these moves. 6th grade- students are learning the different beat sheets and being assessed daily. Please see the following information about the scouting program. After warm-up exercises, the students did a 10 minute interval run. One minute of running followed by one minute of walking. Then the students could choose one of the offered activities to play for the remainder of the class.
We will continue with the dance unit next week. 6th graders are working on timing and rhythm in their groups. 7th grade is working in small groups to choreograph and present a one minute and 30 second dance. 8th grade is learning the different steps of the Shag dance. 8th graders will demonstrate what they've learned in our annual dance competition. Today was the first day of the dance unit. 7th grade learned 'The Hustle'. 8th grade learned the basic step of 'The Shag'. 6th grade worked in groups and completed Beat Sheets.
Students are currently taking the Fitnessgram test. Today was the sit and reach test, which measures flexibility. We will be doing the push-up test tomorrow.
Welcome to PE. Today students new to PE were assigned a locker. We will begin dressing out tomorrow. We reviewed the syllabus in class and discussed rules and expectations.
